Dutch international Charlon Kloof strengthens Heroes Den Bosch

The 34-year-old guard, who until now has played his professional career exclusively abroad for clubs in strong leagues such as UCAM Murcia (Spain’s top division), OGM Ormanspor (Turkey’s top division), and most recently, FC Porto (Portugal’s top division), has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Den Bosch. With his skills, leadership, and experience at the highest level, the club views Kloof as a strong and much-needed addition to the team.

Kloof has spent recent months recovering from an injury he sustained during his last game with FC Porto. Heroes Den Bosch provided him the opportunity to use their facilities and team to work toward full game fitness during the final phase of his recovery. This allowed the club not only to assess Charlon's basketball abilities up close but also to experience him as a valuable mentor and “extra coach” on the court.

Coach Erik Braal describes Kloof's arrival as a "crucial reinforcement" for a team still finding its rhythm: “Charlon brings a unique combination of experience, athleticism, and personality to Den Bosch. He’s a true leader on the court and is known for his determination and grit. His skills will enhance our offensive options and strengthen our defense. Additionally, he has the insight to elevate his teammates' play to a higher level.”

"We worked hard over the summer to strengthen and expand our Dutch core as much as possible. Being able to sign Charlon until 2027 is another step forward in this goal. With him, Boy van Vliet, Luuk van Bree, and Menno Dijkstra, we now have four players who have been called up to the preliminary roster of the Orange Lions.”

Charlon is eager to officially join the team: “Heroes Den Bosch has both the ambition and the potential to continue growing as a club. I love being part of something bigger than myself, and I’m very excited to be part of this project for at least the next two and a half years!”
