At Heroes Den Bosch the connection to the club can come in different ways. For Raegen van Bree that connection grew naturally through her husband, player Luuk van Bree. What started as supporting from the stands has evolved into something deeper: a genuine appreciation for the club, its people and the community. In this edition of Heart of Heroes, Raegen shares what makes Heroes special to her.

More than basketball
What stands out most to Raegen is the way everything at Heroes goes beyond the game itself. It’s not just about what happens on the court, it is also about everything that happens off-court. From themed game nights to consistent engagement online, the club creates an experience that keeps people involved.

“The staff works so hard to showcase the work of the players, but also to build a community around basketball,” she explains. “Each game becomes an experience.” That mix of effort and creativity makes it easy to stay connected, both during games and in between.

Moments that bring people together
Some memories naturally stand out more than others. For Raegen the 2025 Dutch Championship sweep was an unforgettable highlight. Experiencing that success up close made it very special.
At the same it often are the smaller moments that leave a lasting impression. “A second favorite memory for me was the Halloween-themed game,” she shares. Events like those show how Heroes creates an atmosphere that brings people together, making every visit to the Maaspoort unique.

A shared experience
Supporting Heroes, for Raegen, is something best enjoyed together. Whether it’s wearing a touch of red to games or bringing friends along for their first basketball experience, the social aspect plays a big role. “The best part is coming along with a group of friends,” she says. “You can always count on it to be a fun activity.”

Looking ahead
With the playoffs approaching Raegen is excited about what’s to come. The team’s chemistry stands out to her and is visible on the court. “I’m so excited to watch the boys go into playoffs,” she says. Looking further ahead, she hopes to see Heroes continue to grow internationally. “I’m excited to see Heroes become a known powerhouse beyond the BNXT-league.
Her message to everyone is clear: “Hopefully the Maaspoort will expolode with more cheering and support than ever, to fight alongside them for the championship!”
