Justin Kier new point guard for Heroes Den Bosch

Heroes Den Bosch has found its point guard for the 2024-2025 season in Justin Kier. The 26-year-old American comes from the Austin Spurs, the NBA G League team of the San Antonio Spurs. In 2023, he also played for the Spurs in the NBA Summer League, where he played alongside #1 draft pick Victor Wembanyama. Kier played college basketball at three different universities, and not the least notable ones: George Mason University, the University of Georgia, and the University of Arizona. With the Arizona Wildcats, he reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA March Madness in his final year. In Den Bosch, the point guard has signed a one-season contract.

Head coach Erik Braal is pleased with Kier's arrival: “Finding a playmaker who can balance the team well and also contribute effectively was quite a quest. But I think we have found such a player in Justin. He has good game insight and makes good decisions, both with and without the ball. He makes the players around him better, can create plays, and can also make his own moves when the situation calls for it. Additionally, he is a good defender who will certainly strengthen us in that area."

First Adventure in Europe
“I am playing somewhere other than America for the first time in my career,” Kier begins. He continues: “I think it’s a great opportunity for me to develop and test myself, both athletically and personally, and I am very eager to prove myself on the European courts. I have spoken with coach Braal, and his view on basketball appeals to me. I look forward to being his extension on the field.”
